I'm in the process of bringing my SBCs up to date from SqueezePlay 7.3.x to 7.6. A couple of things that I've noticed during this process:
If the SBS server is running 7.6 from svn code, squeezeplay updates don't seem to get downloaded to /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/updates and thus the SBC never sees that an update is available (because it's not.) Even after manually downloading the files to updates, or to server/Firmware, SBS running from svn code never acknowledges that the update files are available. If anyone knows a work-around for this, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Even after switching the music source (on the SBC) to a "legit" installed SBS, if the player selected by the SBC is a SBTouch, then the SBC still doesn't see that any updates are available, even if jive.version and jive_7.6.0_rNNNN.bin are present in the updates directory. Third time is the charm: selecting an IP3K player (transporter) on the SBC menu and then changing the music source to the "legit" non-svn SBS 7.6 allows the update to proceed. Once the SBC is updated (), the Squeezebox Account screen presents a barrier. If I select "Register", I can never get past entering the MSB account email ID...there didn't seem to be a way to move on to the password option. If I select "Continue" (rather than "Register"), it doesn't continue. It just beeps and refuses to budge. I have to hit the home button to continue. Again, these observations just apply to upgrading a SBC from SP 7.3.x to 7.6. -- gharris999 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78249 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
