I don't know how SBS works under windows, but in my opinion it is faster on linux compared to OSX. Just an impression. However, the new mac mini does not come with an option for SSD, nor Core i7. Apple has configs up to 4MB Ram, I think. Going over that -if possible- surely has a price. Besides CPU raw power, Mac mini uses a laptop design, it is not the I/O beast you're after, I am afraid.
