No it can simply not be stopped, have to remove the network cable from the server to turn it off, then I can simply connect it again while the server is off ?
This suggest some kind of timeout in the latest squeezeplay from Touch ormController . So initailly my Touch or Controller frantically WOL's my server when it starting to shutdown, but it then gives up or get less frantic about it ? maybe it's time to write another bug report ?
