Firmware change on older player is very easy and firmware is very stable. In the older products SB2, SB3, Boom and Transporter there is only one version of firmware in the player. Upgrade or downgrade will be done automatically by the SBS and it will upgraded/downgraded to a version to match the SBS version. If you have a very old firmware in the player you may need to agree to a manual upgrade using "Brightness" button on remote
After some firmware upgrade/downgrade sometime it is necessary to do a Xilinx reset if the player does not operate properly.
