Bog-standard FreeBSD FFS/UFS+SoftUpdates, with no symlinks anywhere in the tree. The messages relate to files throughout the filesystem, not just in the misc subdir. Physically it's two 1TB drives in a JBOD (geom concat) but I doubt that's relevant. The only thing which is mildly odd about this box is that's it's running FreeBSD 8 with the 7.X compatibility package installed. I was seeing the same behavior with FreeBSD 7 back in May, so that probably isn't relevant either.
