Hi Michael,

Sorry I did that yesterday night, and once I managed to finish the
scan I just went to get some sleep
It's been a nightmare to run the Squeezeserver without issue on a
Backtrack distrib but all right, here I am.

So here a more details ( I did not had time yet to really check all
the files , I will do that during the week end and send a more
detailed report )

The 3331 files were:

- General albums

and in purposes:
- Classical Music albums
- VA Classical albums
- Various Artist albums
- Bootlegs
- some no commercial tracks ( DJ Mixtapes for IE ) Famous and no-famous
- Few Vinyl ripped from Serato

So Today I launched Amarok and the cover manager to have a look about
the job done,

I'm quiet impressed regarding the accuracy of the Artwork, I was not
expecting the scanner to download Bootlegs covers such as " G-unit
city " // DJ Mixtape including VA tracks, awesome !

more globally on 192 messed albums ( I ve removed the Tags, messed by
bunch of songs to see how it would go only with incomplete names in
tags )
I've found files with tags IN_SUCH_FORMAT_NAME_SONG inside this bunch
34 missing covers - Tracks were poorly tagged and hard song to find
such as this file:
Artist: Snow Informer
-- no more tags --
-> Missing cover , expected behavior but I wanted to really push it
-> Tried to download the cover from Amarok utility using Amazon source
for the same for the file descripted above, failed

So I took the track, launched musicbrainz on amarok and re-scanned ->
I've got the cover from the Squeezeserver. So no doubt, the main issue
is the tagging on these 34 missing cover, no probs

But still 158/192 messed files has been artworked

Now I've took again the same library, before the scan and made an Amarok Scan:
- 1749 Artwork downloaded in 24 minutes
- 2187 With the Squeezeserver scan in 18.20
( Please note that Amarok gives you the choice to choose the Amazon
location, I utilized "International" )

- I did not check the classical music yet, but after a global overview
it seems to be pretty good, I will provide more on a next mail

- Another point, I've got an hard drive with Chinese tracks, I don't
know if that will match with Last FM database at all as they are not
in Latin format, but if you interested let me know, I can give it a
try

I will now backup my musical collection and apply the scan to see what
is gives with a 200GB of files, let me know if it's interesting for
you I can do both test, Amarok / Amazon and Squeezeserver / Last FM
I will edit my tags making sure I give this time the scanner the best
accuracy. These conditions were not optimal at all and not reflecting
the musical collection of an audiophile, more the collection of a P2P
downloader, but still the accuracy is to me awesome !

I made no test on the players are they are connected to the 7.5.1
vortexbox but if the Full library "artworking" is a succes I will try
to run it on the vortexbox and see what it gives in terms of
performance, but it's a an old laptop that used to run win98... let's
see

But for now really satisfied !! Awesome tool,

I will update regarding the others categories soon ( Classical music,
Ripped vinyl ... ) but for now I've got a girl to take care and she's
not that much into Squeezebox ;)

have a nice day !
Julien -
