A new 0.3 version of Duplicate Detector is now available that should
support cue sheets.
However, I noticed a problem related to cue sheet FLAC files. It seems
like I get the internal MD5 integrity checksum for FLAC files also FLAC
files which have a separate cue sheet file. It's not strange since
Audio::Scan probably doesn't have a clue that there is a separate cue
sheet file. So all parts of that FLAC will get the same checksum
independent what I specify in md5_size and md5_offset. Is there some
way to force it to calculate a checksum instead of using the integrity
checksum inside a FLAC file ?
The logic currently in Duplicate Detector is that it will always
specify the md5_offset and md5_size for cue sheet files and it will
only specify md5_size for non cue sheets.
For any user that wants to help trying this on 7.6 and don't have cue
sheets:
- Try if you can use a lower setting with this version compared to the
old one without getting any incorrect duplicates
For any user that wants to help trying this on 7.6 and have cue
sheets:
- Report back if you see the same issue as I saw, with "Incorrect
duplicates" entries for the cue sheet tracks
- The cue sheet problem is only related to FLAC cue sheet, I think it
works correctly for WAV cue sheets since I don't think they have the
integrity checksum built into the file format.
