File sizes are a bit smaller in 7.6, which may account for the
difference. I notice that the differences between the 150x150 images
are much less, both in appearance and size. These aren't precached,
IIRC. Could it be that the on-the-fly resized images are being
generated at a higher quality level?

Since resizing and caching are much faster in 7.6, I'd like to suggest
that the quality of the resized images should be at least as good as
they were in 7.5, and arguably should be better.
