I didn't test everything, but after removing the file:/// prefix, the URL encoding alone caused playlists loaded into both programs to fail.
How is URL encoding a pathname that didn't come from the filesystem in that form not an encoding process? And it must be decoded again somewhere before it can be turned into a file request. I can't understand the reason for saving playlists as m3u's in the first place unless it was so they could be created and used by other software.
