I tried transitioning from 7.5.3 to 7.6 again tonight. Experience was a little
better, but there still appear to be big problems.

I took a copy of my prefs folder, and a copy of my cache folder.
I checked out 7.6 SVN 31737.
I ran up SqueezeCenter using: "P:\Programming\Perl\bin\perl.exe" -w
"P:\Music\SlimServer\Beta\server\slimserver.pl" --prefsdir "D:\Squeezebox
Server\Beta\Prefs" --logdir "D:\Squeezebox Server\Beta\Logs"

My prefs was configured to use my own instance of MySQL. At startup, it seems
to have changed to SQLite (Settings > Information reports SQLite). Seemed to
have my full collection listed immediately at startup, so maybe it migrated the
DB content? I don't think the scanner had completed, but was doing something.

Web UI seemed quite sluggish, so I went to Settings, and it looked like the
scanner was running - it had decided to do an auto-rescan.
I changed settings to disable "auto detect changes". Haven't restarted server
yet, as it is still scanning.

The Settings > Information page reports scanning progress, but also reports
"The server has finished scanning your music collection" at the bottom, even
though I can see the progress bars updating.

Discovering files (36115 of 36115) Complete 00:15:10
Pre-caching Artwork (2933 of 2933) Complete 00:00:35
Removing deleted files (2817 of 2817) Complete 00:05:02
Scanning new files (7687 of 9389) Running 00:14:27
Scanning changed files (0 of 9662) Running 00:14:27
The server has finished scanning your music collection.
Total Time: 00:49:41 (Friday 14 January 2011 / 22:41:20)

i.e. it is still scanning for new files, even though it says it has finished.
It's almost taken as long as a 7.5.3 Full Rescan, and has a long way to go.
