The progress display is changed from 7.5, but most of the problems have been fixed. There's no progress bar during the 'discovering' phase because there's no known total (that's the way Michael chose to represent it), but there should be a working bar for the others. With what you're seeing, it sounds like there's more than one scan running and they're both updating the progress table. http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15681 Lately I see pretty much the same thing as you with total time to run a clear & rescan. It's approximately the same in 7.6 with SQLite as in 7.5 with MySQL. A couple of months ago it was about 30-40% faster, so I'm not sure what has changed. New & changed scans in 7.6, though, are much faster on my system.
