Who said you could do that without SBS?

The changelog says that the experimental UPnP/DLNA support
_included_in_SBS_7.6_ will be able to make it act as a regular UPnP
Media Server (ie you'll be able to stream music from SBS to regular
UPnP devices), and that it will also _expose_connected_players_ as UPnP
Media Renderers (ie you'll be able to send music from a regular UPnP
Media Server to your Squeezebox).

My simple understanding is that SBS will act as some kind of
UPnP-to-Squeezebox gateway, which is a very different thing than what
you may have been thinking, and definitely a really nice -tour de
force-!
