There is in certain instances, and then it's the quickest way to track down an error and be able to file a bug report. eg when you dont know why the squeezeboxserver is utilising 100% cpu.
I kept on having this issue, even after re-installs, so really wanted to track it down. Turned out to be related to the SettingsManager plugin. Seems to have gotten itself into a loop updating linked preferences.
