It works for me. As I pointed out in the bug, punctuation isn't being removed, so 'r e m' doesn't work, as it did in previous versions of the server. I couldn't say about leading or trailing spaces, since I make sure my tags don't have any.
Capitalization of the stored SEARCH fields isn't being done either. But as I've said before, it's unnecessary and should make no difference to searching in any type of dbms, even SQLite.
