Mark is right.  Using the deb is a much easier method to get up and
running with the 7.6 beta.  The only advantages of running from the svn
code are:  1). ability to have both the released version and the
unstable trunk installed on the same machine in parallel so you can
switch back and forth between versions by simply starting & stopping
services, 2). it's easier and quicker to update to the latest code
using a simple svn up command, 3). you get quicker access to code
changes, and finally 4). it's slightly easier to hack on the code as
the svn code is less scattered around the file system.  But other than
that, what have the Romans ever done for us?
