Problem solved. Squeezeplay 7.5 running on my XP machine was simply set to control my Squeezebox Radio. DOH! I went to the 'choose player' menu and selected Squeezeplay (instead of Squeezebox Radio) and presto. Now I can see both animated now playing views on the Squeezeplay screen running on the XP machine.... yawn.
The downside of this config is that the volume slider no longer remotely controls the volume of my Squeezebox Radio in the other room, but rather the local volume of either the player on my XP machine, or the other Squeezeplay running on the Win7 box in my office. My XP machine is my HTPC, connected to my living-room home theater receiver and HDTV, so in the living room I prefer to control volume with my home theater remote. Likewise in my office, where the pc is also connected to an external amplifier with it's own volume control. So a watched the digitally-simulated v/u needles rock back and forth for a while, zoned out to the blinking spectrum analyzer for a bit, then decided to select function over form and returned to my original config that allows me to control volumes the way I prefer. Thanks for the help, but neither of us were even close with our first guesses. -- Bigtwistee ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bigtwistee's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39975 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87652 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
