Yes, I'm seeing this bug on my Transporter and on an SB2. It's not completely disabled, just extremely buggy. It works perfectly on the Touch, however.
On the Transporter and SB2, it jumps to the letter, but the artist or album is never the first one that begins with the letter. And some letters are completely skipped.
