The way the tags are handled is the same, in that the same contributor roles are created in the database during a scan. The databases in 7.5 and 7.6 are essentially the same.
But browsing and library presentation has changed. A lot. The web interface is completely different now, and is less usable. The problems described here are just the tip of it. Given the complete standstill that development of 7.6 has come to, I have a feeling that it will be released exactly as you see it now.
