The SSD helps a lot. Scanning the same library with the SBS database on a pair of mirrored SATA drives took almost twice as long when I tried it last night on my "spare" server. Before I threw this box together, I spent about six months using a FitPC2. Same SSD, same LAN connections, but the Atom CPU in it really struggled doing a full rescan. It took nearly 24 hours, and got so hot I had to point a fan at it. Perfectly fine for everything else, though. So, yes, I suspect a Celeron is a bit underpowered for all of work now going on during scanning, IMHO. -- pallfreeman I will always cherish the initial misconceptions I had about you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pallfreeman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37667 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89205 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
