You're totally right and it looks like I've wasted my time. The packages index now lists 5.12 as the "official" perl for FreeBSD, it's been updated since I last looked. I suppose that means it's nearly time for FreeBSD 8.3. Bah. The SBS developers use specific module version which they take copies of, maintain and include, whereas the FreeBSD folks strive to have just one version of each module or library, and they assume that the latest versions don't break earlier functionality. This isn't always true. Which leaves our FreeBSD-addicted SBS community with two choices: go with the versions that the FreeBSD dudes put out and suffer the occasional breakage, or use the Logitech releases/nightlies builds and keep the old perl versions around just for SBS. And on the gripping hand, DIY. -- pallfreeman It's like watching a train crash in slow motion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pallfreeman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37667 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89187 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
