Thanks Michael - that's a shame! It also works fine on 7.5.6. I could remove that file, but I suspect it would simply crash on another one, because I've had the same sudden crash with other ones. That just happened to be the one I tried this time. So I'm probably back to my previous suggestion that what I should do is set up a small library with no album art and go from there. Since I've got over 1400 albums with a mix of places for it - embedded, album folder and central artwork folder - I really don't want to have to work through the whole lot.
