I copied with -p flag as root so the permissions are exactly the same as in the VirtualBox shared folder I normally mount.
The issue is just that I can't do that for the whole library because the drive is too small, the current state is: - Seems to work if pictures are on a local drive - NFS mounted folders crashes the scanner: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17323 - Mounting an NFS drive on the host and offering it to the guest via a VirtualBox shared folders doesn't find the images in sub directories: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17324 - Mounting via samba directly in guest actually seems to work, so I can use that as a temporary solution, at least it seems to be doing something now even though it doesn't show any progress bar. Music works great with VirtualBox shared folders, the issue only occurs for images and probably also for videos.
