The best option for me is to have all your music on an external USB disk. Easy to take with you and to backup. This is my current solution. I mentionned the internal SSD solution to point out that the search field of Windows file explorer can be as fast as SBS database browsing, without any scan and without any tags. I tested on the SSD typing a few letters in the serach field. I get the result instantly in a folder containing a total of nearly 10.000 files in 1000 subfolders. What is the point to scan and create a database in this situation ? I guess the result will be the same with an external USB3 SSD disk.
