I did a little experimenting with my Samsung SmartTV (D series). With Windows Media Player, things play fine, but I get no album art either in listings or on the now playing screen. I do get a progress indicator.
With Samsung AllShare, I get basically the same thing. With LMS, I don't get the progress bar, and I get cover art in the listings, but not on the Now Playing screen. I also can't seem to play native MP3s through the interface (it shows up as Unsupported File Format, although transcoded FLACs work fine. This may be a bitrate issue as my MP3s are 320K). I don't think album art is ever supposed to show up in the Now Playing screen--it doesn't say it will and all the samples I've seen show a generic icon there. I'm guessing I'm not seeing a progress bar when I play transcoded files because the TV can't read the file and get the progress info when it's being streamed.
