Thank you Michael for the reply. There was definately no other install going on in the background. I tried installing 3 times. Tried rebooting a few times. What it looked like was that the Squeezebox media server was not fully seated or installed when the MVC++ install then pops up asking to install. That's when MVC++ stops and asks to 'Retry' or 'Cancel'. Eventually you have to cancel because even after hitting 'Retry' 50 times it still comes back to 'Retry'.
