First of all, if adding support for pictures and videos wasn't enough to
change version numbers to 8.0 nothing is going to be, so it's going to
be called 7.8, we will never reach 8.0.

Regarding priorities:

1. Stability and bugfixes
This should go into 7.7.x and should be the primarily focus in the near
future, since 7.5.x it has been less stable and more bugs for every new
release, this needs to change. I would personally not like any work on
7.8 to be started this year, I think the ideal situation would be to
focus on stability and bugfixes in 7.7.x during the rest of this year.
It's not likely going to be that way, but it's still on the top of my
wishlist.

2. Third party API's for pictures/videos/UPnP:
With the limited resources Logitech have they need to take advantage of
third party developers to be able to offer as much as possible.
Currently pictures, videos and UPnP is extremely closed for third
parties, basically anyone that wants to add anything need to
re-implement everything.
- Support for adding extra browsing menus/information in UPnP
interface: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17613
- Support for adding extra metadata to images and pictures through
plugins
- Support for adding extra browsing menus in ImageViewer through
plugins
- ...

3. Playback support in Revue
Add support in Revue to act as a real Squeezebox, basically something
similar as bluegaspode's Android Squeeze Player app that already exist.
We might get this through bluegaspode but getting it from Logitech will
make it harder for Logitech to drop support for mysqueezebox.com and
LMS anytime soon. Ideally, Logitech should just create a partnership
with bluegaspode to get this quickly and to a reasonable price, but I
guess that's not likely going to happen as they seems to prefer to do
everything themselves. Playback support in Revue might not seem
important but I really think it is, primarily because it will make the
old Squeezebox devices be supported a bit longer and hopefully long
enough to make someone at Logitech (outside the development team) to
understand their potential.

4. Support for new streaming/cloud services
Even though some people doesn't like it, supporting the latest
streaming services is very important as it's something new users look
at when deciding what to purchase. Some examples (not according to
priority) would be Google Music, iCloud (probably not possible), Amazon
Cloud Drive, Best Buy Music Cloud, SoundCloud, Grooveshark, Mixcloud and
others which I don't remember at the moment.

5. Integration between music and pictures/videos
In the current software music, pictures and videos feels like three
completely separate things, we need to bring these together. This is
partly related to the artwork thing already mentioned but it's a lot
more. I want to be able to link artist photos and music videos to an
artist, album or track. The issue with this is of course, as usual,
that it requires a paradigm change that we can't consider the database
volatile and something that can be completely deleted without loosing
any information, so the chance of this happening is likely pretty slim.
The best way to accomplish this is probably to handle it according to
point 2 above (third party api's).

Point 2 would be possible to take to a completely different level by
releasing a Logitech AppStore, but I don't think this is a priority for
Logitech, they probably just want to use Android Market to accomplish
this on GoogleTV (Revue) instead of building one on their own.

I'm not mentioning support for Touch II and Boom II because I don't
think any of them is likely to happen anytime soon, it's a lot bigger
chance we will get a Revue II.
