Start and stop wears the disc it would last longer spinning, but if op
is home only 2 days a week the equation may still be in his favour .

So it's energy vs investing in a new drive and actually the energy used
to manufacture it ?

Wonder if a drive actually ever uses as much energy in it's whole life
than it took to build it ?
