Agreed, it's not a fix.

How does that solve the issue that Windows 7 wouldn't ask for elevated  
permissions? What you suggest behaves exactly the same on my machine as  
what we already had before: if the user isn't part of the administrator's  
group, the execution fails.

I'll be happy to implement a real fix if somebody can find one. But  
according to MS this isn't possible in all cases any longer. See the link  
in the bug report.
