I'm finding that only about 1 in 5 "rem COMMENT blah blah" tags in
cuesheets get picked up by the current version of audio scan. This has
been happening for more than a year now, I think. I've yet to figure
out any rhyme or reason as to why some COMMENTS make it into the DB and
most others don't.

An example of a CD that I ripped today where the COMMENT is
successfully picked up by the scan:

Code:
--------------------

  REM DISC_ID BC1621
  REM CDDB_ID 67087d09
  PERFORMER "Hindemith, P"
  REM COMPOSER "Hindemith, P"
  TITLE "Brass and Piano Sonatas - Glenn Gould, Philadelphia Brass Ensemble"
  REM GENRE "m_Modern_German"
  REM YEAR "1975"
  FILE "Brass and Piano Sonatas - Glenn Gould, Philadelphia Brass Ensemble -
D1.flac" WAVE
  REM COMMENT "Paul Hindemith (1895-1963); Brass and Piano Sonatas;
Philadelphia Brass Ensemble; Mason Jones, french horn, alto horn; Abe
Torchinsky, tuba; Gilbert Johnson, trumpet; Henry Charles Smith, trombone;
Glenn Gould, piano; "
  TRACK 01 AUDIO
  ..etc..

--------------------

..and an example of a cuesheet who's comment gets ignored by the scan

Code:
--------------------

  REM DISC_ID 1B44262
  REM CDDB_ID 000e6c12
  PERFORMER "Montsalvatge, X"
  REM COMPOSER "Montsalvatge, X"
  TITLE "Piano Works - Jordi Masó"
  REM GENRE "q_Modern_Italian-Spanish"
  REM YEAR "2008"
  FILE "Piano Works - Jordi Masó - D1.flac" WAVE
  REM COMMENT "Xavier Montsalvatge (1912-2002); Piano Works; Jordi Masó, piano;
Granollers Chamber Orchestra; Francesc Guillén, cond.; "
  TRACK 01 AUDIO
  TITLE "Tres Impromptus (1933) - 1 Molto delicato"
  PERFORMER "Montsalvatge, X"
  REM     COMPOSER "Montsalvatge, X"
  REM     GENRE "q_Modern_Italian-Spanish"
  REM     YEAR "2008"
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
  ..etc..

--------------------

Before I file a bug on this, any advice as to debugging options that
might shed light on this? I mean, in the example above, about the only
difference I can see is that the 2nd, unsuccessful example contains
diacritic marks in the text, whereas the 1st does not.

Actually, the more I look at this, I think that that's the problem.
Any COMMENT that contains UTF-8 characters with diacritics won't get
picked up by audioscan.
