Thanks for this. I broke the golden rule and just tried this on my one-and-only server before hearing anyone else's experiences. It's all good though.

A couple of small oddities I think. I hadn't stopped LMS before running the installer, and half way through it prompted me to stop the server.
This can be a simple timing issue: the installer tries to shut down the server, but would give up after 10s. If it took longer than 10s to close down, the installer would complain about it.
time. I did notice a difference the second time though - it prompted me for which users to install the package for, which I didn't notice on the first run through.
Would you even have been able to install for your user only? I thought we configured the installer to only allow global ("all users") installations.
