Hi I've been digging into this for a few days. I'm using LMS 7.7.2 on my Synology NAS (this version is already packaged by Synology). This NAS has neat features to spin-down HDD when it's not used. I've noticed that various parts of LMS still access files, effectively waking up the drive all the time. I've disabled most of the plugins and now I am using only the ones I need. One of them is UPnP. So far I've identified this file is accessed quite often: SqueezeCenter/HTML/Classic/plugins/UPnP/MediaRenderer.xml Interestingly, this file doesn't exist in the "Classic" plugin, only in "Slim" folder. The question now is, can I easily try beta of LMS to see if the problem was solved? Or are there any plans on optimizing the disk access for LMS?
