As far as I know, nobody in the community is working on a community version of LMS so far, there have been some discussions but not much interest among developers so far. It might still happen, but no activity in this direction have started yet as far as I know. Nobody have announced to the public that they are working on a LMS/mysqueezebox.com replacement so far, but this doesn't mean that it doesn't happen, things could be going on in private and just not be ready to be exposed to the public yet... audiogene wrote: > > These shitheads were certainly not aware of the fact that the squeezebox > system was the only one working for even huge musical archives and there > was even great support for high density audio formats like 24/96. Based on this, Logitech stopped selling Squeezeboxes and Sonos don't implement 24/96 and Linn will continue to have a premium price, this is what makes most sense for each one of them from and economical perspective. The fact that Logitech stopped selling Squeezeboxes can actually be a good thing in a few years, because it opens up this market segment to other more creative companies which understand our needs better than Logitech ever did, it will just take some time for them to develop new products or adapt their existing products to fit our needs. I think the next year is going to be pretty exciting even if it might not feel that way at the moment. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94289 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
