Inclusion list and exclusion list is the way to go ( IMHO ).

But have the inclusion list at the top and the exclusion at the bottom
if the user don't exclude anything it will works as it always has . Then
the risk of confusing some less technically minded users are much
smaller , if they do what they always done it will be bussiness as
usuall , they migth not even notice the new option.

Does these kind of things matter now ? When it was a supported product
intended for massmarket ( or what logitech thought it was ) there was
some hesitation to include even more options and settings .
