FWIW: I just found out that the first time you run BMF at all, it'll
create new records for all entries found in the root level of your music
folder. This can take a considerable amount of time. And IMHO this
should not happen. Those record should either be added at scan time, or
not at all.

Have you identified yet _when_ this was broken?
I wouldn't consider it "broken". It's rather potential for a few
optimizations. And no, I don't know when this was introduced. Why are
you asking? Have you seen regressions in BMF recently?
