I have tried the latest LMS build. M4a seeking works fine with small m4a
audio files (~30MB, seeking just a couple of seconds), ok with medium
sized audio files and not at all with larger files.

30 MB - seeking just takes a couple of seconds, playback ok
140 MB - seeking takes longer but playback and server still ok
216 MB - seeking takes more than a minute but playback and server still
ok
319 MB - seeking times out and stops track server still ok
414 MB - seeking stops eventually, track is stopped, player looses
connection to LMS (LMS uses >90% CPU time), needs to be manually
reconnected then recovers
511 MB - seeking does not formally stop, track does not play (but is
shown as still playing), player temporarely looses connection to LMS
(LMS uses >90% CPU time) but reconnects automatically
612 MB - seeking stops eventually (after ~8min.), track is stopped,
player looses connection to LMS (LMS uses >90% CPU time) but reconnects
automatically
689 MB - previous track needed to be stopped manually and an internet
stream to be selected in order to play this one.
seeking stops eventually (after ~8min.), track is not
stopped but is shown as still playing (CPU load back to a normal level
from >90%), reconnected automatically,
877 MB - previous track needed to be stopped manually and a internet
stream to be selected in order to play this one.
seeking stops eventually (after ~12min.), track is stopped
(CPU load back to a normal level from >92%), reconnected automatically,

Seekings issues aside I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised how
robust 7.9 turned out to be (ok I would not ordinarily wait 10+ min. but
still ...). The ui seems much faster, too. It also cooperates nicely
with MacOS X which was still running smoothly. :)
