I just upgraded to 7.9 from 7.8.1 today (Windows 7). My first attempt at
a rescan (just to test -- hadn't added any new music) resulted in
exactly this problem with the same log entries. I let it run for awhile
before killing the server and scanner processes. After restarting, I did
a complete clear and rescan -- it worked fine. I then tried another "new
and changed" rescan, and it completed without incident this time.
Gremlins, I suppose.
