LMS does interpret the date tag in some way to present it as "Year" and there are many ways to represent date in the world and LMS scrubs of day and moth if present . year and date is not realy the same thing . However I see that many rippers and taggers prefer date nowadays to store just the year .
Please file a bug report for this issue and attach a sample file exposing it. Thanks!
