Good luck with that. We've had a horrible time with that recently with the ickStream plugin, e.g. when trying to send player names over JSON. Some of the encoder functions break when you supply accented characters, some break when you supply apostrophes and some behave differently when you call them the first time after the server has been restarted (sic!). My Mac's library name, which contains an accented character is also showing notoriously wrong in the Mac's preference pane, however often I change it (in the same pane). And some results you get in JSON are double- or even tripe URL-encoded. UTF-8 encoding and URL encoding is really broken in LMS.
