Well, there is a big difference between "it might still work" and "no
longer supported".
It's no longer supported by its author. We never supported it anyway.
And if it's using inexisting or deprecated calls, then either it won't
load with an error telling you so, or your log file will be spilled with
warnings about its use of those calls.
I manually installed the plugin, as instructed by the original install
documentation in /c/.squeezeboxserver/Plugins/PowerSwitchII
From the error message you get I'd say that folder isn't being used by LMS:

@INC is the list of folders where LMS is looking for code. From that
list the best path probably would be /usr/sbin/Plugins. Not a good
choice, but the best there is.
What kind of server is this, how did you install LMS on it? IMHO it
should be looking in the folder you mentioned, too. But that's up to the
LMS configuration. If it's a ReadyNAS, then that actually might be my
issue to fix... But then plugins which need to be installed manually
haven't been the norm for many years.
