Of course the Windows Firewall on the server is switched on but all
ports used by LMS are manually opened. Additionally Kaspersky server AV
is running on the machine, but it's Firewall and NDIS Filters are both
deactivated. Since it worked flawlessly for years and also after a
restart of the LMS service, this is definitely not a network problem.
The server and the players are connected connected to a GB Switch
(although the players use a 100 MBit interface "only") The problems
started two or three months ago with one of the 7.9 nighly builds (maybe
in conjunction with a Windows update or patch). I am working as IT
Administrator and network specialist since 25 years. I'm pretty sure the
network is OK ;-)
