In case I would subscribe to Spotify, would DSTM use Spotify logic to
create the mix, if selecting the relevant option (after installing
Spotty, I guess)? I ask because I read about SmartMix's demise (the TEN
service story) and I was wondering if TEN logic is now behind Spotify
mixing, when used in conjunction with DSTM.

Yes, Spotty does provide a DSTM module. It would create a mix based on the information found in your current playlist.

Unfortunately the interfaces provided by Spotify aren't nearly as powerful as TEN was. And Spotty's DSTM mixer by far isn't as powerful as SmartMix was...

Also, LastMix (Your Favourite Artists) uses the Last.FM account
information from the Last.FM Audioscrobbler plugin? How "favourite" do

Yes, that's correct.

the artists need to be, in order to be included in the mix? The first
10? The first 100? Does anybody know?

"Anybody" in such a case would be the plugin author ;-). The plugin would fetch the 50 most favorite artists from LastFM, then randomly pick 10 of them to create the mix.
