The above verse by Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya describes
the eventuality & inevitability of the cycle of birth-death-rebirth.
In the life's journey, all of us encounter different situations, come
across all kinds of people, face challenges & problems. It is also a
fact that we experience different kinds of emotions ranging from
Joy, Ecstasy, Happiness to Anger, frustration, loneliness, sorrow,
depression etc,. Nobody can escape from these ups & downs in life
and has to go through the rumblings of uncertainties constantly.
Depending upon either the good deeds of previous life ( POORVA
JANMA SUKRUTA ) or thanks to the fortunes smiling in abundance
in the current life ( SUKHA YOGA ), we get to see some people having
a smooth, hastle free comfortable life. Contrastingly we also witness
many people born in a state of abject indigence and live a life full
of misery & sufferings. The two extremes indicate that the posting
of birth is decided by GOD depending on the performance ( KRIYAS)
of previous life.
Hence it is very important to keep track of our deeds and actions in
this life to become eligible for a worthy posting in next life. Only a
few GREAT SOULS who have done such noble deeds and have made
an indelible contribution to humanity attain MOKSHA to become one
with GOD.
Aiming to attain MOKSHA is some thing next to impossible, which is
beyond the reach of ordinary mortals. But it is certainly in the hands
of individuals to resolve and perform in the present life in a manner
which adds to the credit balance of their account ( PUNYA ) than to
the debit balance ( PAPA ), so that at the end of the day surplus CREDIT
BALANCE is left in the GOD'S ACCOUNT to become eligible & deserving
for a congruent & congenial re-birth.
