Hi Dave. Blender Player is currently on and off in Blender 2.5. While we don't have its building process properly fixed we are making it build (in a hacky way) only every now and then.
If you need it for your tests you can use the last revision where BlenderPlayer was fixes: #24956 It's pretty close to the official Blender-2.50alpha0 (a few revisions later) But, please keep in mind that we are not releasing blenderplayer with Blender-2.50alpha0 because it's not suitable for tests (or it's not the priority right now). So I don't think it would be a good idea to have it in a public repository.
