While digging around through the BGE source code, I stumbled across this nasty workaround/hack to disable vertex arrays when using display lists on ATI cards:

A quick test in #blendercoders with someone on an Intel Mac + ATI card found that commenting out the !mATI check did not seem to affect anything. Maybe this could be removed?
