It's in the to-do list to implement an option in the interface to pick your own font. In the mean time, as you found out, you can either:
1) delete the font (to roll back to the bfont) 2) pick a new font (2.1) gzip compress it to a file named droidsans.ttf.gz http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=18225 *) Note the font inside the gz file can have any name. It doesn't even need to be ttf (it works with ttc and otf as well) "Apparently, there's a "font" folder in the Datafiles folder that should not be there" ?
