Agree in *some* nodes is nice to have the sockets shown, but default behavior should be to hide them, as it is not the same case for all the nodes, so perhaps let the "Toggle Hidden Node Sockets" option still work when collapsed? So we can manually specify which node should show its sockets and let the rest not to. Would this make everyone happy?
