Hi Sam Vila, from you're message it isn't entirely clear what you mean with "tracking". Basically, there are two distinct workflows. You can reconstruct a 3D scene, and then place virtual objects into it. Or you can extract the 2D motions of given video footage, and use that for masking, rotoscoping or image stabilisation in general. Personally, was interested in the 2nd use gase, but I ran into several problems while using the current 2D-tracker on more elaborate, real-world shots. Thus I did a complete rework of the current tracker. My version can compensate zoom quite well, and is also able to handle panning and travelling shots. More complex rotation is still problematic though, but I basically have a plan how to get that somewhat under control. But currently I see the goal to get that reviewed and into the hands of more users. Unfortunately the review process stalled, probably because the core blender devs are overloaded with work. The review process can be found here: https://developer.blender.org/D583 For a demo video where I explain my reworked version and show how to apply it on a real world shot please see here: http://vimeo.com/blenderHack/stabilizerdemo There is a theory/documentation page where I explain my concept: https://github.com/Ichthyostega/Blender/wiki If you're interested, you should probably join the "VFX" list, which is focussed on video handling, effects, tracking, sequence editing etc http://lists.blender.org/mailman/listinfo/bf-vfx Cheers, Hermann Vosseler (aka "Ichthyostega") _______________________________________________ Bf-committers mailing list [email protected] http://lists.blender.org/mailman/listinfo/bf-committers
