Hi All,

After I tested with the actual release v2.79, I am pretty sure 3D text
rendering part is not included in the current version.
So I wrote a project proposal
here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dh8ww9sTvLre4Wvsh8wfWry3JkJy8wSPxbkjPlux_Jg/edit?usp=sharing>.
Hopefully, I could get some feedback and update it before the deadline. :D

Thank you in advance!

Subject: [Bf-committers] [GSoC 2018] Idea from the todo list

Hi all,

I hope I did not do this too late... Short self-introduction, I am a student
from SMU@Guildhall, doing Master in Game Development and I am really passionate
about Graphic programming. :D

I have reviewed the TODO list here(ref:
https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Source/Development/Todo/GameEngine)

I found several things I possibly could do in 12 weeks:

  * GLSL: Implement vertex transparency in GLSL
  * 3D text: Support for packed font/multiline/alignment etc.(but maybe not
all of these in limited time)
  * Mesh: Create new geometry dynamically: meshes, vertices and faces

I think I will be capable of implementing these features, especially because I
have already done things related in my own engine or I am familiar with the
ideas.

My concern is since I can only find the to-do list for v2.6, maybe some of
these has already been out of date. So I want to do a very quick check of these
things. Do they still exist?

At the same time, would any of these topics be good for GSoC?

Thank you in advance!
