Hello everyone,

I would like to ask/invite other developers to review the patch D3666 [1].

This subject is a bit hairy since I don't see any clear industry standard
on how to handle this. You can use the font metrics (what I'm doing),
hardcoded margins (e.g., 80%, 20% as Google Slides does), dynamic alignment
(varying based on what you type - as Scribus does). Or even something
arbitrary as using the x-height for center alignment (which only works for
lowercase-only cases).

It goes without saying that as the original author of the vertical
alignment options I'm happy with the patch result.

Artists used to work with fonts are welcome to test as well, a windows
build is here for convenience too [2].

For those on Linux, I also have a sample file with the Microsoft standard
fonts. I'm unsure on their license in regard to upload permanently to a
server, so I'm hosting it myself instead [3].
