Hi, There is a draft for the next VFX reference platform up now. Since we had some issues with the last one, it would be good to give feedback if necessary.

So the question about diverging or not will remain. The only other potential difficulty I see is that TBB remains on version 2020, presumably because 2021 has significant breaking changes. Blender code currently builds with both versions, to support Linux distributions that have the latest version. I guess it's not a major issue to keep that working.
